BioGlo™ Fluorescein Strips are sterile ophthalmic strips used to help detect corneal defects, abrasions, and other irregularities on the corneal surface. When moistened and applied to the eye, the fluorescein dye highlights areas of concern, making them easier to view during an eye exam. These strips are a commonly used diagnostic tool for optometry and ophthalmology practices.

Product Usage
To insure full fluorescence and patient comfort, the BioGlo impregnated tip should be moistened before application. One or two drops of sterile irrigating or saline solution should be used for this purpose.
Touch conjunctiva or fornix as required with moistened tip. It is recommended that the patient blink several times after application.
Application: Moisten by applying 1-2 drops sterile isotonic irrigation solution, sterile water, or other ophthalmic solution. While patient looks down, stroke applicator tip across bulbar conjunctiva for fornix; then have patient blink several times.
Alternative application methods include having patient close lid tightly over strip until desired amount of staining occurs for exam.
If allergy reaction a possibility, use an intradermal test dose of 0.05 mL; evaluate 30-60 min following intradermal injection; a negative test dose does not exclude potential for allergic reaction.
Storage: Keep at room temperature.
Warnings: For external use only. Contents may not be sterile if individual strips have been damaged or previously opened. Hypersensitivity to components or mercury-containing compounds; history of hypersensitivity to fluorescein sodium are contraindications.
Ingredients
Active ingredient: Fluorescein Sodium 1 mg per strip (USP).
Other ingredients: Distilled water q.s, Sodium Carbonate IP, Whatman Filter Paper grade #1.
Each sterile strip is individually wrapped, impregnated with 1 mg of fluorescein sodium U.S.P.
