Dosage and Administration
The usual dose is one drop instilled into the eye(s). Enough solution should be used to make sure that any damaged areas are
stained. Each Minims Fluorescein eye drops unit should be discarded after a single use.

Contraindications
Fluorescein Sodium is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to fluorescein.

Precautions
Soft contact lenses should be removed prior to the administration of the eye drops. Soft contact lenses should not be worn until
the effects of the drops have completely worn off.

Ability to Drive & Use Machines
Blurry vision may occur after instillation. This should wear off within a few minutes. Patients should be advised not to drive or
operate machinery until their vision is clear.

Adverse Effects
Side effects have been reported very rarely. Reported side effects include allergic reactions with redness and irritation of the eye
and swelling around the eye, severe allergic reaction with difficulty in breathing and symptoms of shock, and itchy skin rash with
raised red blotches.

Strips - Intended Purpose
For staining the anterior segment of the eye when fitting contact lenses.

Directions for Use
Do not use if envelope is damaged or opened. Moisten fluorescein impregnated tip with sterile water or saline (alternatively
tear fluid from the lower fornix may be used). While the patient looks up, stroke the tip across the bulbar conjunctiva. The
patient should then blink several times to obtain the best results. The strip should be used once, then discarded.

Storage
Store below 25°C. Protect from sunlight. Keep dry.
