Product Usage

For use by trained eye care professionals only.

1. Heat the patient's eyelids using a warm compress or therapeutic device (such as LipiFlow, iLux, or iFlo) for the recommended time prior to expression.

2. Apply a topical anesthetic drop if appropriate.

3. Position the patient at the slit lamp.

4. Place the closed paddles of the forceps inside the eyelid (between the eye and the inner eyelid), parallel to the meibomian glands.

5. Apply gentle, controlled pressure to compress and squeeze out the oil from the meibomian glands.

6. Move along each gland from the medial to lateral canthus.

7. Repeat for upper and lower eyelids of each eye.

Care: All instruments should be cleaned and sterilised between patients using standard sterilisation methods (autoclaving suitable).
