Setup Simplicity

The rinsada™ irrigating eyelid retractor hub firmly screws into the Luer Lock of a standard 10-cc medical syringe filled with a eye wash solution.

Cleaning Efficiency

The soft curve of the eyelid retractor is designed with 5 irrigating micro-ports to efficiently distribute eye wash in 3 directions to thoroughly flush the entire ocular surface as well as underneath the eyelid.

rinsada™ was created by me! (Srini Kondapalli) I am a practicing ophthalmologist and retina specialist in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania. You may be asking, why would I care about the ocular surface. Well, every day I use a lot of Betadine to prep patients for their intraocular injections; and because of that every day I also cause a lot of ocular surface disease and eye irritation. Patients after their injection usually request a great rinse; as the better the rinse the less irritation they have after. However, a great rinse is really difficult. A deep set orbit, a tight lid, poor patient cooperation are just a few reasons which prevent a great ocular rinse. Even still, a standard rinse will never reach the undersurface of the eyelid or the fornix (the deep recess) where a lot of matter gets stuck. As such, rinsada’s inception came from a “space of frustration.” Realizing that there wasn’t a more efficient way for thoroughly cleaning the eyes, I quickly recognized the opportunity to create my own.

Rinsada uses high pressure saline targeted underneath the eyelid and in the deep recess called the fornix where normal rinsing can not reach.
